Friday

Well, its Friday. I still have my cold but am going to visit some family this weekend anyways. The cold isnt bothering me too much.

Being a Chicago sports fan I like to see my teams win. The White Sox right now have no fire, no desire and if they dont find a way to win a bare minimum of two games this weekend against Cleveland there will be no playoffs. On the bright side, they could have the fact that they led the division for 98% of the year. Unforunately in baseball its the last 1% of leading the division that matters. At least we have the Cubs.

Wednesday programming

I watch a lot of TV, probably way too much by a lot of people's standards, but I like TV. Last night was a new episode of Bones, which is one of my favorite shows on TV right now and season premiers of both Criminal Minds and CSI NY.

Bones had a usual strong episode where they managed to bring back an old face, in what I hope will be a recurring role for Zack as I always liked his character. Overall it was a good episode, I would give it a B+.

Criminal Minds is also one of my favorites. The one thing about the show is that it goes through ruts in the writing and will go a couple of episodes sometimes before having another really good episode. In my opinion each show should have two episodes each year that are great, the premier and finale. For Criminal Minds the premier was a little disappointing. I found it very by the script and was very easy to recognize where they were taking us. Overall, I would give it C+ just because it was so predictable which shouldnt happen after a summer of being able to write and change the script.

CSI NY was also a continuation of the story line from the season finale from last year. It was well made and took a couple of small turns that made it more interesting to watch. Gary Sinise's Mac Taylor is one of my favorite characters on TV right now and he was the perfect guy to play Taylor. I was satisfied with the episode, I like to see more of the side characters or Hawkes and Lindsay, but any episode that focuses more on Mac is alright in my book. Overall, I would give the episiode an A-.

Happy Watching!

41 days and counting

Well, only 41 more days until the election is here. Then we can finally stop seeing all those damn political ads. I am already very tired of seeing them all. Franken, Coleman, Obama, McPalin. I am voting for two of the aforementioned people, but that doesnt mean that I want to continue to see their ads on TV.

Personally, I dont pay any attention to any of them anyways. Even the "honest" ads are really only partially true anyways. Its more about mud slinging now that actual problems. The one candidate that I have seen actually run good ads so far is Ashwin Madia who is running for US Representative. Unfortunately, he is running in another district and I cannot vote for him. I still hope he wins.

Is it just me, or does it seem that for each day that passes is there another stupid thing that happened in Alaska ( and approved or lobbied for by Palin) come out? The other day it was her town charging women for their own rape kits, now its the stupid bridge to nowhere that became the road of uselessness. I read that even the locals there dont think the road is needed and will most likely not use it. What a great use of $233M dollars Sarah. Way to stand against the useless Washington establishment and fight against pork barrel ear marks. Make sure you mention the useless road when you keep giving your line about being against the bridge to nowhere.

John McCain use to stand for something also. Eight years ago had he beaten W in the primaries, I may have voted for him. Now, he has just become a nonsensical moron who cannot make up his mind on whether to be a puppet of the right wing to win some votes, or to be a puppet to big oil and wall street to keep his pocket full.

I am an Obama supporter, have been since he first announced he was running. He may not be the perfect candidate for president, but no politician really is most of the time. Obama to me seems the only real option if we want to have public schools, health care, an active strong economy, or any respect around the world.

Hello

This blog will be for me to rant, rave and generally complain about everything that I see fit. Including but not limited to life, politics, sports and people. Have fun reading, I will certainly have fun writing!
